Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. I keep it short and specific to what the site actually does.
Who I am
This website (prestashopexpert.com) is run by Yasir Ahmed, a freelance PrestaShop developer (“I”, “me”). I am responsible for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, e-mail hire@prestashopexpert.com.
In short
- I collect what you send me through the quote form and the speed test, and anonymous visit statistics through Google Analytics.
- I use your details only to answer you and to work with you. No newsletter, no selling or renting of your data.
- You can ask me at any time to see, correct or delete your data.
Quote request form
When you send the form on the Request a Quote page, I receive and store:
- your e-mail address, the service you selected and your project description;
- any file you attach. It is e-mailed to me and then deleted from the web server straight away;
- your IP address and the date, to protect the form against spam and abuse.
The message is saved in the website’s database and e-mailed to me. I use it to reply to you and to prepare a quote. The legal basis is the steps you ask me to take before a possible contract, and my legitimate interest in keeping the form free of spam. I keep enquiries for as long as they are needed for the enquiry or the project that follows, and delete them earlier if you ask.
Free PrestaShop Speed Test
The PrestaShop Speed Test processes the following data.
When you run a test
- The store URL you enter. My server loads that page once to recognise PrestaShop, the theme and links to a category and a product page, and to read public server headers (for example the server software, compression and caching).
- Google PageSpeed Insights. The tested page URLs are sent to Google, which loads them and returns the test results.
- Test results. I store the URL, the scores, the files each page loads (including PrestaShop module names), the server checks and a screenshot of the homepage taken by Google. The results are linked to the store, not to you, and are used to show your results and to produce anonymous statistics about PrestaShop store speed.
- Spam protection. To limit the number of tests, your IP address is used only in scrambled (hashed) form in temporary counters that expire after at most 24 hours. It is not stored with the test results.
When you request the full report
I store your name, your e-mail address, your consent and the test it belongs to. I use them to e-mail you the report link and to follow up personally about your results. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. The private report link works for 90 days and is never shown in search engines. Test results are kept for the anonymous statistics; your name and e-mail address are kept until you ask me to delete them.
Spam protection with Google reCAPTCHA
The quote form and the speed test use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to tell people from bots. On those pages, reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and browser and how you use the page, and sends it to Google. This is based on my legitimate interest in protecting the forms from abuse. Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
Visit statistics with Google Analytics
I use Google Analytics 4 (added through Google’s Site Kit plugin) to see how visitors find and use the site, for example which pages are read, which country and device type visitors use, and how often the quote form, the speed test and the e-mail, WhatsApp and Upwork links are used. The content of forms and messages is never sent to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics only sets its cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to two years) after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. The legal basis is your consent. Until you accept, or if you decline, Google Consent Mode sends Google only cookieless, anonymous signals (for example that a page was viewed), without identifying you or your device across visits. According to Google, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Declining removes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
Cookies
- Google Analytics cookies, only after you accept, described above.
- pse_consent remembers your cookie choice for 180 days, so the banner does not show on every page.
- Google reCAPTCHA may set a cookie on the quote form and speed test pages for its bot check.
- WordPress sets login cookies only for the site administrator.
This site does not use advertising or social media tracking cookies.
E-mail, WhatsApp, Upwork and social links
If you contact me by e-mail or WhatsApp, or through Upwork, Facebook or LinkedIn, I receive the details you send, such as your name, e-mail address or phone number and your message. I use them only to talk with you about your project. Those services handle your data under their own privacy policies.
Content loaded from other servers
Like any website, each page sends your IP address and browser details to the servers it loads files from. Besides my own server, this site loads the Font Awesome icons from cdnjs (Cloudflare) and the small flag icons from flagcdn.com.
Server logs
My hosting provider’s web server records technical data for every request, such as IP address, requested page, browser and time. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running, and are kept for a limited time set by the host.
Who receives your data
I do not sell, rent or share your personal data for marketing. It is only processed by the services needed to run the site: my hosting provider, my e-mail provider, and Google (Analytics, reCAPTCHA and PageSpeed Insights). Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in its privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask me to give you a copy of the personal data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. E-mail hire@prestashopexpert.com and I will reply within 30 days. If you live in the EU or UK and think your data is being misused, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The whole site uses an encrypted HTTPS connection, the forms are protected against spam, and only I have access to the website administration and the stored enquiries.
Changes to this policy
When the site changes what data it collects, I update this page and the date at the top.
